Virtual Curriculum

Accessing the Curriculum

 

In order to access the curriculum, please follow the steps below:

  

Plato - High School Students

1. Go to the Plato website.
2. If this is your first visit to the site you will be required to enter an account number: 1002.
3. Before using your given account information, go to the lower left corner there is a link, "Where can I get the browser plug-ins I need to run courseware?", to provide you with the needed updates and downloads to make the program work effectively.  Be sure that pop up blockers are disabled for this program.
4. Log in using the information provided to you by the Academy staff.
5. The course will be listed on the page. Clicking on the course will open up the course to the chapters. You will continue to click until you arrive at a lesson which will say Tutorial, Application and/or Mastery Test. Complete each of the items. If you did poorly on the test, then you need  to redo the tutorial before the test will be unlocked. You must complete the items in the course to gain credit.
6. Running reports will give you an opportunity to check your grades and see what remains for you to do. The report buttons is on the left side of the screen. Follow all of the required prompts.

 

Compass Learning - High School Students (PE, Art, Health) and Elementary Students

1. Go to the Compass Learning website.
2. Login using the information given by the Academy staff.
3. The course will have a gold circle and have the word assignments under it. Clicking on the course will open the course into the units.  Complete each of the items.
4. For PE, you must complete the online activities and supply a list of 90 hours of physical activities you have completed. On a sheet of paper list the date, activity and time spent on activity. Before sending the sheet to the Academy, the parent must sign off that the activities were indeed completed.
For art, you must complete the online assignment and submit three pieces of art: a report on a favorite artist, a drawing or painting, and a three dimensional project (statue, clay piece...) to the Academy.
5. Running reports will give you an opportunity to check your grades.  You will find reports in the backpack on the left side of the screen. Follow the prompts given.
