      • The Federal Resource for Educational Excellence (FREE) Web site makes it easy to track down new teaching resources from federal agencies. Some of the latest topics include water purification, spreadsheets, nanotechnology, planet and artists. Click here to find more information on these topics and others in arts and music, health and physical education, history and social studies, language arts, science and mathematics.
      • Smithsonianeducation.org, which boasts of more than 1,200 free educational resources, includes a feature that aligns those resources to standards of learning in every state. By entering the name of a state into the search engine, teachers can find lesson plans, virtual exhibitions, photographs, artworks and databases of research information that apply to their curricula.       • PBS Teachers Web site, a portal for pre-K-12 educators, offers a one-stop resource for educators searching for wide-ranging curriculum resources, video products and online professional development opportunities through the PBS Teachers. PBS Teachers is the doorway to all educational resources and services PBS offers, and provides information on effective ways to use media and technology in the school learning environment.       • INFOhio provides access to electronic collections. Teachers interested in learning how to use INFOhio resources in their classrooms should visit the How to Use INFOhio Electronic Resources Collection by clicking here. Usernames and passwords for at-home use of INFOhio are available from your local school library media center. You also can complete the username and password request form by clicking here.
      • OAT/OGT Website: provides teachers and students information and resources for the Ohio Achievement Tests (OAT) and the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT).
  • ODE Instructional Management System: Standards based lessons, short cycle assessments, and resources
  • Ohio History Teachers: Ohio Historical Society resource

  • Language Arts: Multitude of lessons available
  • SchoolRooms Basic :  learn more about classroom management, online lesson plans, special needs students, virtual field trips and more.   • Holocaust and Tolerance:  Shoah Foundation Institute at the University of Southern California launched a newly designed Web site that contains free online resources for teachers, including video and lessons.
  • The INFOhio Core Collection of Resources provides students and teachers with valuable tools for learning how to conduct research and improving information and communication literacy at the same time. As an INFOhio resource, World Book Web promotes information skills through Research Skills for Students and The Educator’s Research Center located at www.worldbookonline.com/student/howtoresearch. These tools help students and teachers plan research projects, learn successful search strategies, and evaluate research materials for authority and accuracy. Another INFOhio research tool is the Research Project Calculator located at www.infohio.org/projectcalculator/. This calculator allows students and teachers to set target dates for completion of each part of a project while giving suggestions on how to complete the next research steps in the allotted time frame. Research tools can also be found at SIRS Discoverer under the Educator’s Resources link. This site offers information literacy training materials as well as an Indepth Guide to Mini Research.
