St. Marys High School Classrooms
The Auglaize County Educational Service Center’s High School Program is designed to support students with special needs as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for a successful transition to adult life. Our program provides a rich and supportive educational experience that balances rigorous academic expectations with individualized supports and real-world skill development.
Students receive instruction aligned with grade-level academic standards and high school graduation requirements, with curriculum and teaching strategies differentiated to meet diverse learning needs. Core academics are integrated with essential life skills and specialized instruction to promote independence, self-advocacy, and future readiness.
Program components include:
- Standards-based academic instruction in core subject areas
- Daily living skills training to build functional independence
- Social-emotional learning and communication skills development
- Health and safety education for personal well-being
- Vocational training and career exploration, including hands-on opportunities
- Life skills instruction, including financial literacy, transportation use, and workplace behavior
- Individualized transition planning to support post-secondary goals
Through a collaborative, student-centered approach, our high school program equips students not only for graduation but also for meaningful adult roles in the community, workforce, and beyond.
Enabling Success for Every Learner.
Our Classroom

Cindy Oliver's Classroom
I have always had a passion for working with people with special needs. I was a caretaker throughout junior high and high school for two families with children with special needs. I also volunteered in the Multiple Disabilities Classroom in high school. I would accompany them on field trips to the grocery store. I majored in Special Education K-12 at Bowling Green State University. I began working at the Auglaize County Educational Service Center the summer after I graduated. I have been employed by the ESC for over 20 years. During my career, I have had the pleasure of teaching junior high, high school, and transition aged students. My classroom has been housed at Wapakoneta High School, Auglaize County ESC, and St. Marys Memorial High School. I also worked part-time in adult services. I feel that working in adult services has given me a unique ability to help shape students' futures. I have been able to work with and experience almost every opportunity they have available to them when they exit school. A perk of teaching has been staying in touch with my former students. I love hearing about their successes in life. Many of my former students have gone on to become Employee of the Month or even Employee of the Year. Other graduates, travel the world with their family, or attend exciting outings in the community (such as OSU football games, movies, theater, swimming at the Y, and going out to eat). I even know of a former student who won one hundred fifty dollars on a trip to the Casino with his providers. In my freetime, I enjoy reading, bike riding, hiking, and having coffee with my friends.
